Setting the Scene
In Spring of 2023, I took a Visual Design and Art Direction class at Clemson University. Our final project was to completely flush out one of our projects into a full advertising campaign.
I decided to take my layouts project, inspired by creating a news feed for Spotify, and see that concept through all of the ideation phases.


The Spot is a feel good news feed created by Spotify to keep passionate music consumers updated on all things new music.
The goal is to reach our target audience of enthusiastic music consumers and keep them updated on all of their favorite artists.

Our biggest competitors in this space are BuzzFeed and Twitter because people tend to go there for 'feel good' news as well.
The Spot has a competitive edge in the fact that it connects to your current listening activity. We are giving you music news curated for you. Because why wouldn't it be?
